As someone who has been watching him play live for 28 years, there is nothing wrong with liking his old stuff. The problem is those that slag him off for not playing a full Jam set! On Sunday I heard quite a few people moaning and groaning saying his solo work is rubbish. To them I say it's time to leave the party, you are wasting your time and money. In my view the fact Paul Weller still acknowledges the Jam in his set even if its only 3 or 4 songs is fantastic particularly when his solo work just keeps getting better. Brilliant festival, all bands were superb as was the scooter rally at Ryde the day before.
